Five provinces provide some financial support to Hope Air. Ontario is not one of them. In December 2023, Hope Air provided a $2.5M proposal to the Government of Ontario with no response to date.
An official noted that the province “acknowledges the unique challenges faced by people in northern and rural communities.” Recent enhancements to the Northern Health Travel Grant were not mentioned, suggesting that northerners continue to face administrative challenges accessing funds from the program.
