Flooding caused by Hurricane Helen (and possibly incoming Hurricane Milton) has closed on Baxter International’s North Cove site in Marion, North Carolina – the largest manufacturer of IV solutions in the US – again raising concerns about the availability of critical medical supplies across the continent. It is possible that a prolonged period of recovery is in store. Major health care systems in the US have started implementing contingency plans.
