The #smallhome option is an integral part of a comprehensive housing solution for people with disabilities and others requiring long-term care. Other jurisdictions should embrace them.
But in this case – even when offered additional support – local staff judged the client’s needs to exceed their abilities while the hospital states that the resident no longer requires clinical care.
Surely there must be better alternatives than forcing Mr. Beaton remain in hospital or accepting a bed in a long-term care home.
