In 2022, 55.7% of Canadians died in hospital [low NU (39.7%) to high QC (76.7%)]. But 7 out of 8 (87.5%) Canadians would prefer to die at home. There is no excuse for this gap.

A host of coordinated strategies (enhancements to palliative/ end-of-life care teams, well resourced home care, and financial incentives to family/caregivers) is required to fix this immediately.
