(@JAMASurgery) This study indicates that considerable variation in price markup exists across US hospitals and that high mark ups demonstrated 𝚋̲𝚘̲𝚝̲𝚑̲ 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝚊̲𝚗̲𝚍̲ 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲. These findings underscore that key initial policy targets for #pricingregulation, #transparency, and #qualityimprovement should take precedence.
